Ralph Fiennes’ directorial debut, “Coriolanus,” to premiere at Berlin film festival
Actor Ralph Fiennes’ debut as a director a version of the Shakespeare tragedy “Coriolanus” is to premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February.
Organizers said Wednesday that “Coriolanus” is among the first batch of movies chosen for the official program and will show out of competition. It stars Fiennes himself alongside Vanessa Redgrave and Gerard Butler.
Also premiering in Berlin will be Wim Wenders’ “Pina” a tribute to the late German choreographer Pina Bausch.
Films competing for the festival’s top Golden Bear award will include “The Future” from U.S. filmmaker Miranda July and “Yelling To The Sky,” a directorial debut from American Victoria Mahoney.
The festival runs from Feb. 10-20.
