Gerard Butler’s ‘Gamer’ Has a Trailer (Blog)

May 10, 2009 | Gamer News, Uncategorized

It has been titled Game, Citizen Game and Lionsgate has finally decided on Gamer for their new film starring Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, Amber Valletta, Alison Lohman, Zoe Bell, Kyra Sedgwick, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges and Milo Ventimiglia. Gamer is directed by Crank franchise writer/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor and has already earned an R from the MPAA for frenetic sequences of strong brutal violence throughout, sexual content, nudity and language.

Crazy thing is, outside of the co-distribution of the animated flop Battle for Terra, Lionsgate doesn’t have a single summer release. Gamer hits theaters on September 4, just missing the summer season.

The film is set in the not-too-distant future in which Butler plays Kabel. Every week, millions worldwide tune in online to watch him and hundreds of other convicts battle in Slayers, an ultra-violent multi-player online game invented by technological genius Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall). Want the rest of the story? Check out the brand new trailer directly below.
