March 8, 2015 | London Has Fallen News

A brand new Hollywood blockbuster will be filmed in London using drones. UAViate will involve drone filming around central London for the London Has Fallen which is the sequel to Olympus Has Fallen. The action thriller is set to be a huge hit with audiences worldwide, with a stellar cast including revered actors Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler. The plot follows events leading up to the British Prime Minister’s funeral, which all the world’s most powerful leaders must attend – but a mass assassination master plan is uncovered and must be stopped in its tracks.

John Gore, Business Development Manager of UAViate said, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be asked once again to lend our services to a major film production. Last year we offered our drone filming expertise to the production of Criminal starring Kevin Costner and Gary Oldman, and now working on London Has Fallen we get the opportunity to see Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler in action – it’s incredible.”

UAViate, the UK’s leading drone operations and consultancy firm, will be coordinating a strategic partnership with Cloud 12 in order to successfully manage the prestigious project. Filming and using drone technology in central London will be challenging but as the go-to management firm for drone aerial photography and filming, UAViate are perfectly situated to rise to the job. The filming locations for the movie are being kept under wraps but it has been confirmed some dramatic shots will include some of the key locations and landmarks in the capital.

The project management of the project includes securing all the permissions with DPG, NATS and CAA, liaising with the film production team and undertaking risk assessments and hazard analysis. UAViate will also be ensuring the flights can be completed safely in conjunction with Cloud 12 who will take operational control on the filming days.

The high profile jobs for UAViate keep pouring in as businesses large and small discover the benefits of implementing drone technology. The announcement of securing this major movie deal coincides with the launch of the company’s new visual website. With examples of aerial photography and footage captured by UAViate’s drones, and case studies of how drones can be used for a variety of purposes, the new website is bound to catch the eye of even more clients.
