And it looks like Butler’s character has already suffered some scrapes in London Has Fallen, judging by the blood on his forehead and shirt.

The story picks up in London, at the funeral of the British Prime Minister where the world’s leaders have gathered.

However, the gathering becomes the deadly target of terrorists looking to kill all those in attendance with just Eckhart’s President Benjamin Asher, his formidable Secret Service head Mike Banning (Butler), and a British MI-6 agent to save the day.

Fredrik Bond was set to direct the action-packed sequel relocated in London but he left the project reportedly due to creative differences.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bond quit London Has Fallen because the production schedule was moved up leaving not enough time for him to prep.

Babak Najafi stepped into the director’s slot to replace Bond, having impressed with his 2010 Berlin Film Festival debut Sebbe and Easy Money II: Hard To Kill.

Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett and Radha Mitchell have returned for the sequel which began filming last October before taking a break over the Christmas period.

Production was stalled while Butler finished shooting sci-fi drama Geostorm then returned this year in London.

London Has Fallen will arrive in theatres on October 2nd, 2015.
