UPDATED: FilmDistrict will release “Olympus Has Fallen” in April — nearly three months before Sony opens “White House Down.”
FilmDistrict has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Olympus Has Fallen, starring Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman. The film, set in the White House, is directed by Antoine Fuqua and will be released in theaters on April 5.
Roland Emmerich’s White House Down, from Sony and starring Channing Tatum, opens June 28.
