SIRENS LINING UP TO BE IN RAUNCHY FILM; BATTLE TO BE THE BARD’S BEAUTIES

A BEVVY of beauties are lining up to play the Bard’s bird in a new film.

Several sexy Scots are to be screentested for the parts of the many lovers of randy poet Robert Burns.

Telly totty will meet producers to discuss roles in the new film.

Tomb Raider star Gerard Butler will play the legendary womaniser and drunkard.

Cameras are expected to start rolling in the summer on the film which will focus on the bed-hopping antics of Burns, who fathered several children.

Morvern Callar stunner Kathleen McDermott has already been interviewed for the part of Mary Campbell, “Highland Mary”, with whom Burns began a passionate affair.

Other actresses in the frame include Valerie Edmond, of The Crow Road fame, and Valerie Gogan, who played Bobby Carlyle’s lover in the hit BBC cop drama Hamish Macbeth.

Both women, who worked for the film’s director Vadim Jean, are up for the role of society poet Agnes McElhose, whom Burns referred to as Clarinda .

Harry Potter actress Shirley Henderson and former This Life star Daniela Nardini are also on the hit list.

The movie, entitled Burns, will be shot in Ayrshire by writer Alan Sharp, who was behind the 1994 hit Rob Roy.

The Burns film covers six years of bard’s life, roughly from 1785 to 1791.

It has gone had many changes in cast, with Johnny Depp once up for the role, as well as several different producers.
