Is Watchmen Finally Shooting in June (Blog)

May 17, 2007 | 300 News

There’s rumblings around the web today that Zack Snyder’s adaptation of the “Citizen Kane” of graphic novels known as Watchmen, is set to begin shooting this August. Offices are said to be opening next month in Vancouver as preparation really kicks into gear.

More info from IESB…

Word on the street back is also that Warner Brothers may use the same playbook that made 300 such a huge hit by letting the fans in early on in the process by giving them a special glimpse into the direction and early production work on the film at this years Comic-Con.

The only thing we know about Watchmen casting wise, is that Gerard Butler has spoken to Snyder about a potential role in the movie and that Tom Cruise had been approached but for whatever reason, it didn’t come to fruition.

We shall soon be opening up a new section here at OWF, which will track the progress of such big and cool movies like Watchmen, so stay tuned for that!
