300: A Film for the Bravehearts (Blog)

March 12, 2007 | 300 Reviews

‘300′- the 117 minute Action drama starring Gerard Butler, has all the blood and violence needed to keep the adrenaline flowing in your veins.

The film, directed by Zack Snyder, is a journey back into the era when the toughest decision were taken in the most barbaric way. It takes us on the battlegrounds of the year 480 B.C., where 300 Spartans faced thousands of invading Persians in the Battle of Thermopylae.

Zack Snyder has done his homework well and is successful in re-creating the epic. The film depicts the true society prevailent at that time and the scenes are done with great panache. Its the absurdity of the actual events and the barbaric way of handling situations which makes this film appear a bit different from what we are used to see. And this very point is the plus point of the film.

There are severed limbs and gushing blood all over the screen with short breaks in between. But even those breaks dont help you get away from the frenzy because once you start watching the film you become a part of the plot and are involved in the battle.

The film has a five star performance by Gerard Butler who makes the character of king Leonidas come alive.

The film which has hoards of six packs and an ocean full of raw blood is sure to win the hearts of all the bravehearts.
