300: March to Glory Game – First Screens Released

February 20, 2007 | 300 News

With the film adaptation of Frank Miller’s 300 set to hit theatres this March, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Eidos released the first set of screens for the PSP game based on the film, 300: March to Glory.

Unlike the countless number of games based on movies that bombed horrifically, 300: March to Glory is looking like it will actually be a pretty good game. The first thing it has going for it is the fact that the both the comic and film are action packed, so the game promises ceaseless combat. Game trailers also reveal a cinematic camera style for the game which showcases what the official website calls the “wrath attack” finishing move. It should be similar to the finishing moves seen in games such as God of War or Prince of Persia.

From site desriptions it seems as though the health system relies on constant fighting, a concept that worked only so-so in Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. However it would seem to force the player into the Spartan mindset of constant combat. How well it will perform in-game still waits to be seen.

The game will allow players to take on the role of either King Leonidas or a Spartan phalanx. It’s alleged that players will be able to switch between the two in battle. As of right now there’s not a whole lot of information available on how the combat system will work.

The 17 new screenshots are without doubt a tantalizing glimpse of what 300: March to Glory will be. Hit the thumbnails above to check them out.
