Il film “Dear Frankie” di Shona Auerbach ha vinto il premio “Percorsi Creativi 2005” promosso dai Cinecircoli Giovanili Socioculturali nell’ambito del Giffoni Film Festival. Il riconoscimento è stato assegnato da una giuria composta da insegnanti ed operatori culturali dell’Associazione nazionale CGS, con la seguente motivazione: “per aver affrontato con grande efficacia il tema della perdita, nella duplice prospettiva del saper abbandonare e dell’essere abbandonati. Il film utilizza l’escamotage della menzogna come preservazione da una realtà fatta di dolore, sfruttando con sapienza narrativa l’archetipo del rito di passaggio sia per quanto riguarda la figura del genitore sia per quella del giovane protagonista. Pertanto risulta un lavoro ricco di poesia privo di facili sentimentalismi”.

Awards: “Dear Frankie” wins the “Percorsi Creativi 2005” award
The film “Dear Frankie” by Shona Auerbach won the “Percorsi Creativi 2005” award, which is promoted by the Youth Socio-cultural Film Circle (CGS) within the Giffoni Film Festival. This acknowledgment was given by a jury made up of cultural teachers and workers from the CGS National Association for the following reason: “for having dealt with the topic of loss with great effectiveness, in the twofold perspective of knowing how to abandon someone and of being abandoned. The film presents the use of lies as a defence from a reality filled with pain. With narrative wisdom, the film takes advantage of the passage ritual archetype both from the figure of the parent as from that of the young protagonist. Therefore, it results in a piece of work rich in poetry and lacking in easy sentimentalisms “.
