A long line was formed to meet Butler in his participation in an event hosted by Akasaka Post Office which appointed Butler as the “Ambassador of the Letter of Love.” Butler shook hands with all the 500 phans from various parts of Japan.
This event also initiates a “Writing a Letter of Love” contest in which the Japanese phans give feedback in their letter to Butler on his latest film, “DF” in which the letter exchange is the key element. (The winners of the contest will receive the handwritten letters by Gerry.) Many phans stood in the line from the night before in the pouring rain, but were all mesmerized by the unmasked, friendly Gerry. Many of them not only got to shake hands but got the HUGs from the star.
