BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) –
Things are moving along in the re-creation of the White House for a movie soon to begin filming in South Bossier.
“White House Taken” tells the tale of a former Secret Service agent works to prevent a terrorist attack on the White House.
Bossier Film Liaison Pam Glorioso says crews have been working seven days a week on turning Walker Place near the CenturyLink Center into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, complete with the White House Lawn, iconic wrought-iron fence and driveway. Light poles have been removed and a culvert installed for the project.
Most recently, they’ve been working on the portico and putting in the windows. The set will depict only the exterior of the executive mansion, no interiors.
Glorioso says they’re pushing to stay on schedule for filming to begin July 9. The film’s stars, including Gerard Butler, are expected to be in town the first week of July.
The film’s producers are also in talks with the Louisiana Boardwalk for some possible filming there.
Walker Place has been reduced to one lane (eastbound) for the duration of the construction. Some additional road closures are expected when filming when filming begins.
