Bulgari To Host Star-Studded Celebrity Charity Event

January 9, 2011 | Charity Work

On Thursday, January 13, 2011, Bulgari will host an exclusive event in Los Angeles honoring award-winning producer Simon Fuller and Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Haggis for their personal commitments to helping the world’s most vulnerable children through their respective work with Save the Children and Artists for Peace and Justice.

As part of Bulgari’s $7.4 million initiative to fund global education programs, 100% of the funds raised by the event will support Save the Children’s education programs in the U.S. and Artists for Peace and Justice’s efforts to bring education to Haiti’s poorest children.

The special, high profile evening will be hosted by Nicola Bulgari (Vice Chairman, Bulgari), Francesco Trapani (CEO, Bulgari), Mark Shriver (Senior Vice President, Save the Children’s U.S. Programs) and Ben Stiller (Board Member, Artists for Peace and Justice) and will take place at a private home in Beverly Hills. This spectacular moment will include a cocktail reception, a unique dining experience by Suzanne Goin, a live auction, and a special musical performance by three-time Latin Grammy and multi-Grammy winner Ricky Martin. During the live auction, guests will be invited to bid on a variety of unique experiences.

The event’s host committee includes Maria Bello, Selma Blair, Adrien Brody, Josh Brolin, Ron Burkle, Gerard Butler, Martha De Laurentiis, Ginnifer Goodwin, Randy Jackson, Jason Lewis, Kyle Maclachlan, AnnaLynne McCord, Debra Messing, Julianne Moore, Clive Owen, Ryan Seacrest, Maria Shriver and many other celebrities.

Recognizing that education has the power to transform lives, Bulgari has since 2009 partnered with leading non-profit organization Save the Children to provide quality education opportunities for the world’s most vulnerable children. In 2009, Bulgari raised over $9 million to support education programs and teacher training in Afghanistan, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Southern Sudan, Uganda and countries in South East Europe. Proceeds from the sale of a much celebrated silver anniversary ring contributed to Save the Children’s Rewrite the Future campaign, which targeted support for over 10 million of the world’s children.

For 2010-2011, Bulgari made an additional commitment of $7.4 million to Save the Children to help fund education programs, healing and education through the arts, teacher training, and other related programs in China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Indonesia, India, Ivory Coast, Kenya, South East Europe, Southern Sudan, Uganda and the United States. A unique silver and ceramic ring modelled after the famed B.zero.1 line was launched October 2010, with $75 from each ring benefiting Save the Children.

Tables will be sold for $10,000, $25,000 and $50,000. Individual tickets will sell for $1,000 per person. Space is limited to 250 guests. Interested individuals may contact bulgariforeducation@bulgari.com for more information.
