Gerard Butler has lost some major cool points recently for starring in ovary-bailing fluff like P.S. I Love You and The Ugly Truth, but it looks like he’s getting his RocknRolla groove back with a string of macho films coming out this fall. First came the trailer for Gamer, a sci-fi thriller where gamers control real humans in a multi-player online gaming environment. Now, Butler is kicking ass and taking names in the trailer for his next thriller, Law Abiding Citizen.
In Law Abiding Citizen, Butler plays an ordinary man who takes justice into his own hands when his wife and daughter are brutally murdered. When one of the culprits is offered a plea deal, Butler’s character exacts revenge on him and the district attorney who prosecuted the case (Jamie Foxx). The film hits theatres Oct. 16.
