Lone Image Delivers First Look at ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ (Blog)

March 26, 2009 | How to Train Your Dragon News, Uncategorized

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is the protagonist of How to Train Your Dragon. He’s the son of Viking King Stoick the Vast, chief of the Hairy Hooligans. But it’s hard to live up to his father’s expectations.

Hiccup gives the introduction to Cressida Cowell’s book:

“I was not the sort of boy who could train a dragon with a mere lifting of an eyebrow. I was not a natural at the Heroism business. I had to work at it. This is the story of becoming a Hero the Hard Way.”

Hiccup has to train a dragon, but he finds his dragon nemesis is not the fire breaking monster he expected, but a small almost toothless and very stubborn baby dragon. The dragon, who Hiccup names Toothless, is not the picture of fierce Dragondom just as Hiccup isn’t an example of a mighty Viking. The adventures of Hiccup and Toothless are now an animated fantasy adventure film.

Dreamworks has just released the first image from the film. It stars the voices of Jay Baruchel, Million Dollar Baby, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock, Gerard Butler, 300, Stoick the Vast, America Ferrera, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Astrid, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Superbad, Fishlegs, Jonah Hill, Superbad, Snoutlout. The film is directed by Chris Sanders and has a release date of March 26, 2010.
