SCOTS hunk Gerard Butler has bought a huge flat in New York, but can’t move in. Since landing the title role in The Phantom Of The Opera the money has been rolling in and Gerard has treated himself to a loft apartment.
He told the Razz: ‘It’s a fantastic space, a big loft on two floors in Chelsea, but I don’t know what to do with it.
‘I was just in New York but didn’t even stay there because I’m about to rip it all apart. I was meeting designers and architects but just ended up more confused.
‘It’s turned into a big project. It doesn’t have to be but now I just want to make it into my Shangri-la.’ Paisley-born Gerard, 36, is single and also has a flat in Hampstead, London. But he is now spending more and more time in America as Hollywood takes notice.
As well as Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, he also starred in Reign of Fire, but last year’s Phantom made him leading man material. He’s just finished Beowulf & Grendel but will be back in Scotland soon to work on a film about Rabbie Burns.
